Stand Up Straight Gentlemen

This photograph was within my grandfathers World War II photos that were handed down to me from my mother.

I can't help but wonder what lead to these gentlemen taking this picture, but every time I see it...it makes me smile. :-)

About Us

We are searching for pieces of history in the form of old photos (family or any other type), letters, postcards, and other items ranging from the 1800’s to the 1960’s. If you have any of these things that are either unwanted (please do not throw them away) or need a good home, we would love to take care of them for you. We would also be more than happy to meet with you and hear the history behind the items as well. We love a good story!

We are a young married couple whose love for history has grown into a passion in the past years through pictures, postcards, and even maps. I will even be going back to school to pursue a degree in world history (just because I love it so much) and my husband has a love for American, Greek, and Roman history. We believe strongly in preserving the past in whatever form it may come to us in.

Here are a few of the latest items we have been privileged to care for:
412 pictures – estate of one family
449 pictures – estate of one family
204 World War II pictures + 153 coins
222 pictures - estate of one family
286 letters/postcards – estate of one woman
149 World War II love letters - estate of one man

We take great pride in preserving all the items we are given. They are inventoried and stored in archival boxes for safe keeping (and the occasional viewing by us). We take our collection very seriously and treat your items with respect. We consider it an honor and a privilege to come into contact with these great pieces of history and to be able to preserve them for later generations.

We do not discard any items that are entrusted to us nor do we resell anything for profit. We are not dealers, we are collectors and preservers. One meeting with us and you will see how passionate we are. This is a lifelong project for us and you can contact us many years from now and we will still have your items in our care.

Almost all of what we have acquired has been graciously placed in our care and we normally do not compensate for these items, but if you need compensation, please feel free to contact us anyway and we can see if we can work something out. We just want to be able to preserve as much history as possible.

Please feel free to contact us anytime (no matter how big or small) and we look forward to hearing from you. Our email is: thebotproject@hotmail.com
